Ez came up from Melbourne to visit! He also brought his phone - as an event on its own, is not all that remarkable; in fact, it's fairly normal - his phone, which has GPS capabilities!
Since we were meeting in the day time, I decided we should try finding a geocache - specifically, this one.
Unfortunately was not nifty enough to show us a graphical representation of how far one is currently from the point one wants to be at; since I hadn't actually read up on how GPS coordinates are obtained, we may as well not have had the thing.
We didn't find it.
However, we did find a very nice rock nearby a creek that was a small waterfall site. Spent a while there, listening, staring at the clouds and chatting. Pleasant sunlight, very cold rock, but warm bodies.
Briefly mentioned an inability to do long distance. He didn't say much in reply.
Agreed to meet again later, another day.
