Context: Sick man - Joe - has had complications with several surgeries, including (because I don't know them all in detail) gangrene in intestines, resulting in need for surgery to remove dead sections; blood clot/blockage of one of the veins that feed blood to the brain; cancer in the arm (I think).
Background: Joe is the father of a boy whose name (Joey) sounds vaguely familiar to me. Joey is around the same age as I, in 3rd year of uni. Joe claims to be a Christian. (Translating direct from chinese) Once, he had a dream where he handed in a 'blank exam paper' to God. He told Bango about this, and started doing all these things in church like taking bible studies and stuff. Basically, getting involved in an attempt to serve God.
Other things: Bango, a father in the church (by father, I mean male parent of a younger person), knows Joe as a (fairly close?) friend. He has seen that Joe has some problems that conflict with his claim of being a Christian, despite what Joe has been doing to get involved with the church. However, since he is Joe's friend, he has found it difficult (paradoxically, to me) to tell Joe about these problems.
Currently: Joe is in intensive care due to an inability to breath (probably due to complications or something). Hooked up to something that aids with his breathing. The doctor has said that if he doesn't improve overnight, then they will take away the breathing aid and see what happens.
Why this is here: As Christians, we have been given the task to watch out for one another; when we see that a fellow Christian is wrong in some way, we are to tell them. Bango feels he hasn't done this and wants a chance to do so.
Line of logic for above 'why' and 'background': To love God is to do what He commands. (Refer to some verse, I can't remember it at the moment.)
Request: for all who believe to pray for Joe and Bango, and for God's will to be done.
