Stocktake

It's done! The stocktake has been completed, and although it took a long time, it still got done within a day, we managed to leave uni before midnight and now there's a new database with much useful information about where equipment is located, residing on Wormbo87's USB flash drive.

In fact we started around 18:00 and left at 23:10; I popped out for an hour between 19:30 and 20:30 to sing three part jazz stuff with two other people; it didn't go too badly.

By 'we', I mean myself, Subfuture, a security guard who's not actually a member of the club but is known to us, Wormbo87 and Rel.

UTS has messed with the Electrical Engineering course, to the detriment of a few students, one of whom I know. Basically, the course structure changed so that subjects which were once considered core subjects, are no longer. These students are left with the choice of having these subjects count as electives that they took, leaving them with 12 credit points remaining worth of electives (essentially 2 subjects), or retaining all 24 credit points of electives and writing off $1800 worth of subjects which they completed; in the case of my friend, subjects which had not interested him, and he had only studied because they were core subjects.

This displeases me greatly, and makes me wonder if there were similarly unfortunate souls in IT who were caught in the same problem when they updated my course last year. Why are course coordinators always such jerks? Jim Underwood of IT was one, and apparently so is the course coordinator responsible for the Electrical Engineers.
