Was bored after DCA lecture (which was boring). Decided to get lunch with Tillius. Snuck up behind him in Kelly's Bookstore, next to Broadway. Contemplated throwing a CD at him, but ended up sniggering until he realised I was there. Spent some time looking at books.
Got lunch at Broadway Shopping Centre. Had nachos. The tomato salad tasted odd. Walked around a bit, then went back to uni for DCA tutorial. Left Tillius in a computer lab so he could browse online.
Tutorial finished early.
Took train to St James and went to the St Mary's Cathedral again. To our dismay, it cost far too much to enter the crypt: $5 per person, just to see a room with dead people in it?! Was hoping that I'd randomly find $5 on the ground.
Wandered around the cathedral for a while. Some man who seemed to be one of the deacon people treated me as if I was stupid. Found $5 on the ground. O_o Unfortunately, Tillius told the man it was there. The man patronised me; he was all like, "Well, that can be your donation to the Church of Sydney then!" He picked it up and proceeded to stuff it into the contributions box. Disgusting man. No wonder the Catholic church is losing numbers - irritating people like him claim to be believers.
Later, Tillius told me that the man had been watching me look at the $5 note on the ground. Oh well. By the time we found it, the crypt was already closed anyway. Tillius also remarked that the man was exactly like Mr Hagan, the substitute teacher at Baulkham Hills High. Come to think of it, he may have been a close relative of Hagan - he sure looked similar.
Money found on the ground should not be put into the donation box, because donations should be from one's willingness to give back to God what one has earned with his help, not because one randomly found money, which took no effort to earn.
Spent some time in the part of Hyde Park closer to St. James Station - it IS Hyde Park! - next to a shallow fountain/water feature thing I'd never seen before. Were contemplating running through it barefoot, but never ended up doing it. It rained heavily for a few minutes, and were it not for the trees and vines around the water fature, we would have been thoroughly drenched.
Stood in the rain for a short while.
Had nothing else to do, so went home on an all stops train.
